KA121- ADU:
Accredited projects for mobility of learners and staff in adult education
2024-1-LV01-KA121-ADU-000196806
01/06/2024 – 31/05/2026
Total grant: 93 085 €
All mobility activities have been designed to advance four core objectives of the accreditation:
– improving the digital and language skills of DIJA employees;
– enhancing the quality of formal and non-formal adult education programmes;
– increasing opportunities for DIJA learners in adult education;
– understanding burnout in the education environment and acquiring knowledge for its timely prevention.

What activities did you implement in your project?
To achieve these goals, DIJA staff and learners have participated in a range of international mobility activities — including preparatory visits, job shadowing, expert visits, training courses, and learner group mobilities — in partnership with experienced adult education organizations across Europe. In total, around 50 people were directly involved in our project’s mobility activities.
JOB SHADOWING
Between May 2025 and April 2026, DIJA staff completed four job shadowing mobilities — in Greece, Poland (Poznań), Spain, and Poland (Zator) — involving a total of 13 participants.

Job Shadowing — Greece, Crete (May 2025)
Host organisation: Oloklirosi Single Member P.C., Heraklion, Crete
Participants from DIJA: 2
The mobility covered non-formal teaching methods, inclusion and ergonomics in adult education, project writing, and marketing and communication strategies for reaching adult learners. Throughout the visit, participants also engaged directly with Greek learners and trainees from the host organisation, observing and discussing their educational experience first-hand.
Preparatory Visit — Poland, Zator (June 2025)
Host organisation: EDU CENTRE DOLINA KARPIA, Zator

Expert Visit — Slovenia (November 2025)
Invited expert: Mateja Todorovski, educator and curriculum expert specialising in adult learning, leadership, and educational process design
Participants: DIJA employees
The expert visit focused on leadership routines, time management, and organisational workflows within DIJA. Over three days, the expert examined current practices, observed daily coordination processes, and held individual sessions with staff to identify ways to improve prioritisation, delegation, and the use of digital tools. The visit also addressed strategies for preventing burnout and supporting sustainable working practices within the team.
Expert Visit — Denmark (May 2026)
Invited expert: Dace Holm, founder of DK-ElisHome, specialising in website development, digital content creation, and strategic communication
Participants: DIJA employees
This expert visit was funded by DIJA’s own resources.
The expert visit focused on website development, digital content creation, and visual communication. Over two days, the expert introduced key concepts of accessible website design, digital materials, and inclusive digital practices, followed by hands-on workshops where participants worked directly on improving DIJA’s website and developing new digital materials under expert guidance.

Training courses – Spain, Tenerife — (September 2025)
Host organisation: Tenerife Job Training, Adeje, Tenerife
Participants from DIJA: 8
DIJA staff members took part in a five-day training course titled “Work-Life Balance for a Productive Professional Performance and Qualitative Private Life.” The course combined theoretical knowledge with practical workshops, addressing the causes and consequences of burnout in adult education, organisational solutions and well-being programmes, and psychological and pedagogical approaches to preventing burnout. Participants engaged in group discussions, exchanged best practices, and tested practical methods such as mindfulness and breathing techniques, art therapy, somatic movement, and storytelling — many of which were practised outdoors in Tenerife’s natural surroundings. The course concluded with participants developing personal action plans for applying these tools in their daily work.
LEARNING GROUP MOBILITIES

Learner Participation Overview (Video) here
Throughout the week, DIJA learners worked and trained alongside Greek learners, trainees, and professional pastry chefs from the host organisation. A group of adult learners from DIJA’s pastry-making programme spent a week in Heraklion, gaining hands-on experience in traditional and modern Greek pastry-making through visits to local bakeries and pastry workshops, practising their craft together while developing their English communication skills in a shared, work-based learning environment. The mobility also included cultural activities and exchanges with the host community, strengthening participants’ self-confidence, intercultural competence, and readiness to apply their newly gained knowledge professionally back in Latvia.
Learner Group Mobility — Poland, (August 2025)
Host organisation: EDUSYSTEM / KONTAKT Centrum Języków Obcych, Poznań
Participants: 17 learners from DIJA’s English language improvement programme, accompanied by 1 person

A group of adult learners attending DIJA’s English communication course travelled to Poznań for a week of face-to-face English language practice. Participants took part in daily English classes at different proficiency levels, combined with cultural activities such as guided city tours, museum visits, and an outdoor pronunciation workshop using English-language songs. The mobility gave learners the opportunity to practise English in authentic, real-life contexts, build confidence through interaction with peers and the local community, and strengthen their motivation to continue developing their language skills for personal and professional growth.
